To reduce the in-school variability of student learning experiences across classes, KSHS have developed a Whole School Instructional Model that incorporates the principles of Explicit Direct Instruction. There is an ongoing commitment to upskill staff through professional learning, classroom observation, coaching and mentoring to ensure that every classroom uses high impact teaching strategies and engagement norms.
There is a high demand on the active participation of students in their learning, and to be able to transfer their knowledge and skills into real life contexts. Bi-annually students complete a survey on their classroom experiences that teachers reflect on as part of our continuous improvement process.
